A LITTLE SPACE FOR BIG IDEAS
Time to learn.
Space to think.
Reading together is where the conversation begins.
One-to-one English tutoring and coaching for Years 7–9. A place to ask questions, explore books and find the words for your ideas.
For curious minds. For growing confidence.
MORE THAN VOCABULARY AND GRAMMAR
Good English begins
with something to say.
Students need time to discuss what they read, explore ideas, organise their thoughts and practise different forms of writing. One hour a week can leave too little room for discussion, practice and feedback.
In our lessons, there is time to share an interest, try an idea and ask another question. Miss Ellie helps students turn those conversations into clear, well-developed writing, building foundations for GCSE and later A-level or IB study.
DISCUSS · PLAN · WRITE · IMPROVE
Your ideas deserve
time on the page.
You might know what you want to say, but find it hard to get started. We can talk it through, plan a paragraph and work on a first draft together.
Longer lessons give us time to understand how you learn and help you put feedback into practice. You can make mistakes, ask questions and try again.
Guided practice, with room for curiosity.
YOUR FOUR-WEEK COURSE CYCLE
One fee.
Support that adapts
to your child.
Each cycle covers one-to-one English lessons, preparation, personalised learning resources and feedback. The balance of support can change as your child’s needs change.
At least one two-hour
one-to-one English lesson.
Every week
Different ways to work through it.
Time together
An additional two-hour lesson gives us time to discuss a difficult text, develop an argument or improve a piece of writing together.
Guidance to replay
A personalised video can explain a task, explore a passage or demonstrate how to plan a paragraph. Pause it, replay it and work at your own pace.
We choose the support that helps your child understand and make progress.
Practice with a purpose
Extra writing practice and individual feedback focus on the skills your child needs: organising ideas, choosing evidence and explaining its meaning.
UNDERSTANDING THE FIXED FEE
The support may change.
The cycle fee stays the same.
Whether your child has one or two two-hour lessons in a week, the agreed cycle fee stays the same. Fees vary by year group.
One agreed package
The fee covers the teaching and preparation your child needs across the four-week cycle. It gives us room to adjust lesson time without arranging extra payments each time more support is needed.
Help that fits the task
Sometimes a video or written feedback is enough. At other times, your child needs a conversation and guided practice. We can choose the approach that helps.
BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER
A lesson begins
before we meet.
Good teaching includes selecting texts, preparing explanations, recording guidance and reading your child’s work.
A week with fewer lessons can involve more preparation and feedback. The package makes room for this work, as well as the time we spend together.
WHEN YOU ARE AWAY
A week off?
There is a way to catch up.
If your child takes a one-week holiday during a cycle, a catch-up video is provided so they can keep up with their English learning.
READ. WRITE. OWN YOUR IDEAS.
A stronger writer.
A more confident thinker.
Still yourself.
